Honestly speaking, the best way to go green in terms of your cosmetics is to make them in the comfort of your own home or just to use homemade remedies in general. For example, honey, lemon, oranges, all of these have valuable properties to protect and nourish your skin. The best thing would be of course to start early, and they help you to do that. In addition, if you mix yogurt, grapes, tomatoes, and carrots, you can actually get a pretty descent mask that can help you to protect your skin, nourish it with vitamins and minerals, and otherwise. The trick is finding the right one of course. But there are also ones that make it easy. They tell you right off the bat that they don’t test on animals, they don’t use animal bi products, etc, which is a big thing for a cosmetic company. However, while these products are great for maintaining your skin sometimes because they have antioxidants and moisturizers, and they are of course all natural, they are not so good if you are actually trying to get rid of wrinkles. Unfortunately, the really proven wrinkle fighting ingredients, peptides, are found only in animal and human sources. So realistically, they’re going to come from animal sources. As much as we wish that antioxidants would reverse aging, they don’t. But the best way to go green is to make your own.
