Reservatrol has recently become one of the best known ingredients out there for health, for anti-aging, for anti-cholesterol, for anti-obesity in general. They talk about how it has amazing benefits, how it comes from red wine, and how just one glass per day can help you to fight your aging and every other health problem or aging problem you may have.

This being said, the first thing you should know about reservatrol is that you will find the highest concentrations in grapes. Yes, in red wine you have to compete with the alcohol and it doesn’t have as much reservatrol as much of it has actually been degraded, which is a big problem obviously.

But with all this in mind, reservatrol has been proven to be a powerful antioxidant. It kills off free radicals, and though all tests have really been done on rats, it could apply. The biggest problem with reservatrol is the fact that it cannot be absorbed into the body. You heard me, it passes so quickly through the body that you cannot actually absorb it properly. So is reservatrol effective against wrinkles? If you are taking it internally, probably not.

With this in mind, even in grapes, you are not actually getting the desired effects. As far as wrinkle creams, they have not actually done studies to address the question of is reservatrol effective against wrinkles. They have not actually done any studies. But I suspect that it would pass through just like it would in digested forms.

There are wrinkles in some ways expected to hit the face. Granted, the whole body gets wrinkled after a while. But the major area that we concentrate on is always the face. This being said, smoking is obviously known to lead to greater wrinkles, because quite frankly, it constricts the blood vessels, there’s the mouth motions that go with it, and all in all, it’s not really a good thing. This being said, when it narrows the blood vessels, just because it’s closer to the face does not mean that it is only causing wrinkles on the face. For one thing, it’s also rather close to the hands for obvious reasons. But this being said, it also damages the collagen and elastin, and a study as of 2007 showed that it increased wrinkles on the inner arms, as well as other parts, even spreading down to the legs. So smoking ultimately restricts blood vessels everywhere and that’s part of why it puts you at higher risk for certain heart problems and otherwise. It’s definitely not just the face. That being said, it is second only to sun exposure in terms of the damage it causes and the prevalence in general.
